From motion side mount...
1. Sit up towards your opp's feet - You want your butt up high by his shoulder and your ribs across his face. Your top arm holds under the shoulder and your bottom arm grabs the gi pants because the only way for your opp can escape is to bridge over his shoulder into you...so by you holding gi pants that allows you to block his bridge
2. As you go go back to motion side mount your bottom arm reaches under your opp's arm and grabs 4 fingers inside his collar. You must wait until you start to to back to motion side mount if you are laying on his arm it is much harder to reach your arm under his to grab his collar
3. Your top hand now grabs his opposite collar (as deep as possible)
4. Drop your elbow and sprawl your top leg. As you sprawl that leg you hip drops and your forearm chokes your opp
The bottom hand reaching inside the collar is a sneaky way to secure side mount. It is one of the more difficult side mounts to break. The choke is also pretty sneaky and hard to defend once you have a good grip deep inside the collar
