When you have your opp in butterfly guard and he is laying down on you with his elbows tight...
1. Reach behind both his elbows and lift him up and forward op top of you
2. Extend your legs pushing him away from you
Here he is will always try to flatten your back out otherwise it easy for you to escape or get full guard, as he pushed back into you...
3. Switch your hands from his elbows to under his arm pits and sit back lifting him up over your head while using your feet to lift his hips up
Your opp will now post his hands forward on the mat to prevent getting swept and stand up straight on his legs
4. Shoot your left leg between his legs and circle it around to his hip as you turn your body towards the leg you are attacking. Your right skin switches from his left thigh to his right so both your knees are now pinched around his right leg
If your opp keeps his weight back you can use your foot on his hip to push him backwards onto his ass but if he leans forward and puts weight on the leg you are attacking which he will most likely do...
5. Reach your right arm around his foot and hold your thigh, which will hold his foot tight to your hip - Then drive both your knees to the left to trip your opp
Here you end up in a typical heel hook position;
- Opp's toes under your arm pit
- Your left leg around the outside of his leg with your foot on his hip (toes out)
- Right foot tucked under hamstring of his leg (boths knees pinched)
6. Square your body up so you are sitting straight up on both butt cheeks, reach your right arm back and get your hips out to the side - You can grab his knee with your right hand if you need to balance
7. Slide your left wrist under his heel and hold your hands in a gable grip (left palm down)
8. Pull his heel up to finish the heel hook
**Very important to keep your foot on his hip with your toes out so he can not sit up or get you in a toe hold! Also when you are going for the lock make sure his knee is pointing inward - if it isn't, is it harder to reach around his heel and the lock isn't as tight.
