Tips: Playing the Guard

When playing the guard here are a few things want to remember;

1. Always break your opp's grips, you don't want him to be able to control your knees

2. If your opp starts to collapse your knees to one side, use your bottom hand to help you scoot back as your other hand pushes his shoulder in the opposite direction. Once you have some room....swim your top knee inward then push it out as you sit up to butterfly guard (both shins inside your opp's biceps)

3. From butterfly guard its always easier to work for sweeps if you have a tight underhook on one side and one foot inside as opposed to have two weak underhooks and both feet inside.
