Half Guard: Underhook Sweep Series

Starting in half guard...laying on your right side, with your left forearm across your opp's chin and your right arm inside his left bicep....

1. Swim your left under his left armpit (the arm in which you are holding his bicep) as you simultaneously reach your right hand under his left knee
You are going to use your left hand to push his arm around your head and your right arm to pull his leg up onto your shoulder (almost in an X-guard position but you do not which your feet, you keep them locked in half guard) - You want to roll all the way from your right side to your left while you do this.

You now have his leg up on your shoudler and his hands are most likely based out forward in front of him stopping him from falling forward.

From here you havfe three options for a sweep:

1. Your left hand reaches out and grabs his RIGHT hand (sleeve) and pulls it in towards his body (to do this you will have to bridege back to get the weight off his hands) then you brigde towards his hands as your scissor your legs and get up into his half guard. However, you are holding his leg up over your shoulder so you can easily sit out to side mount.

2. You can do the same sweep with a slight variation. Once you Reach out and grab his right arm and pull it in towards his body....you can feed his sleeve to your right hand and your left hand can reach up and grab his collar...now you pull down on his collar as your bridge towards his hands scissor your legs. By grabbing his collar and pulling him forward it gives you more power.

3. Once you grab your opp's hand and pull it into his body sometimes he will base out and keep his weight back. If he does that you hip out in the opposite direction bringing your left shin across his stomach. Then you scissor your legs and sweep him back in the other direction. Again ending up in half guard...but you can again sit out and pass to side mount.
