Guard Pass: Fowler Pass to Kimura

Fowler likes to control his opp's wrists when passing guard so his opp does not have a chance to control him. This pass works well from butterfly guard before your opp has a chance to sit up and get control with his hands.

From an open butterfly guard....

1. Your left hand grabs your opp's right wrist (adjacent)

2. Your right knee plants as you high leg out (switching your hips) As you do this your right hand is going to plant on the mat over his right shoulder (for balance)

Immediately after clearing your opp's leg....

3. Lock up the Kimura

4. Switch your hips back to standard side mount

From here you can either step over your opp's head (best case scenario) lean up and finish the Kimura OR you can just sit thru (if you can not kick over his head) lean up and finish the Kimura.
