Side Mount: Transition to Opposite Side

If you have side mount on your opp (with your top under on the opposite of his head and your bottom arm checking his hip) he will be able to turn towards you because you are doing nothing to stop him from facing you.

Your opp will most likely have his far arm reaching under your armpit and his near arm tucked underneath him so he can get to his knees. As he turns towards you....

1. Use your top hand to push his head/face downward into the mat- This will momentarily stop him from progressing

2. Now take your bottom hand and slide it under opp's top arm and the BACK of you hand slides on TOP of his neck (palm up)

3. Now you are going to circle around him to the other side of his body (towards his back)

As you circle around him (because your hand was turned palm up) you will end up with a very scure side mount and your opp's top arm trapped between your knee and elbow

*Its very imporant to make sure your palm is up!
